FUNCTION
Home helpers are called upon to assist elderly people, families, and people who are ill or disabled and have difficulty performing everyday tasks. Their role is to enable people to remain in their own homes by preserving and stimulating their independence and ensuring their quality of life. Home helpers act in the best interests of the beneficiary and respect their freedom of choice.
Assignments – Services provided at the beneficiary's premises :
- Support beneficiaries according to the assistance plan established by the social worker.
- Assistance with daily living: laundry, ironing, shopping, mending, meal preparation and assistance with eating, routine cleaning of living areas, assistance with getting around, pre- or post-natal assistance, etc.
- Health role: grooming, changing incontinence pads, hair care, assistance with dressing, ensuring that medication is taken correctly, etc. (These acts are carried out as part of daily living assistance and it is forbidden to provide technical nursing care).
- Educational role: advice on healthy living and adapting the home, support for families, assessment and stimulation of potential, etc.
- Relational support: listening, identifying difficulties, providing support through presence, dialogue, accompaniment in palliative care, etc.
- Social assistance: administrative procedures, help with budgeting, referral to appropriate services, etc.
- Encourage the beneficiary to develop, maintain or restore their independence. Integrate your actions into a preventive framework. Provide support to family carers.

Candidate profile
Level of education:
Vocational secondary education – 3rd level: certificate in family and health care, certificate in family assistance, certificate in nursing assistance, certificate in childcare, certificate in nursing assistant
Social advancement education: certificate in multi-skilled home and community care, certificate in family support, certificate in nursing assistance
Work-study education and training centre: same qualifications as for full-time education

Offer
- Type of contract: Several holiday replacement contracts
- Work schedule: Part-time, 20 hours/week, with the possibility of extensions - Depending on the sector, the work schedule is higher than 20 hours/week.
- Working hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
